The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was developed and published by the GOTS International Working Group (IWG), which constituted of the four organizations: 

Ø International Association Natural Textile Industry (IVN)

Ø Japan Organic Cotton Association (JOCA)

Ø Organic Trade Association (OTA)

Ø Soil Association (SA).

The first standard was released in 2006.The purpose of the GOTS standard certification is to ensure the organic nature of the entire process of textiles from the selection of seeds, planting, harvesting, to the various industrial processes and finally to the completion of the product. Such as: on selection of seeds, not to choose genetically modified cotton seeds; for planting, only biological fertilizers are used; to pests and diseases, only biological or mechanical methods of prevention and control ways are used; irrigation and soil, there can not be any industrial pollution and fertilizer and pesticide pollution....... and so on. In January 2019, SINO obtained the whole supply chain certification of GOTS organic wool garments (the first one in China) and organic cotton garments, which has been continuing for five years so far. By the end of 2022, more than 13,500 corporate around the world have been certified by GOTS, and only 1,775 in China. SINO is the only one that has obtained GOTS certification for wool garments.
