RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) was established by Textile Exchange in year 2014 and officially released in 2016. The standard aims to establish a reliable regulatory system that supervises and certifies 5 freedoms of sheep:

• Freedom from hunger and thirst

• Freedom from discomfort

• Freedom from injury and disease

• Freedom from fear and distress

• Freedom to express natural behavior

Additionally, the standard oversees and certifies multiple aspects such as farm sustainability, land health, biodiversity,

and wool trade. It also monitors and certifies the entire supply chain, including wool processing, spinning, knitting, 

dyeing, and garment manufacturing, to ensure that RWS-certified wool and its products can be sold to various end markets.

In 2018, RWS entered China, and in January 2019, SINO obtained RWS certification for the entire wool apparel 

supply chain. To date, SINO has successfully passed certification for 6 consecutive years.
